
Hardy Houston Paul, 80, of Nebo, passed from this life on Saturday, January 4, 2014, at the LaSalle Nursing Home of Jena. He was born April 9, 1933 in Nebo to the union of his parents, James Lucious and Ellie Wilson Paul. Mr. Paul was a member of Whitehall United Pentecostal Church of Whitehall for 15 years where he served as Sunday School Superintendent. He was a member of Carrietta Lodge #312, a 3rd Degree Mason, President of the Nebo Recreation District Board of Directors for 30 years, President of the Nebo Water System, a former member of the LaSalle Parish Library Board of Control, coached girls and boys softball and baseball. Mr. Paul proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. Services were held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 7, at the Whitehall United Pentecostal Church with the Revs. J. J. Bourn, D. C. Corson, P.
A. “Fox” Paul, Danny Cole, and Charles Branoff officiating. Interment followed in the Nebo Cemetery under direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Jena. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Milton Paul, Lawrence Paul, Phillip Paul, Martin Paul, Malcolm Paul, and Homer Paul; and sisters, Era Hailey and Hazel Abbott. Survivors include his wife, Rosie McNeely Paul of Jena; three sons, Perry Paul and wife Deby of Parhams,
Rev. Joey Paul and wife Sylvia of Jena, and Jeffrey Paul and wife Stephanice of Zachary; one daughter, Traci Paul Riggs and husband Ralph of Pineville; nine grandchildren, and six great grandchildren. Pallbearers were Louis Paul, James Paul, Gordon Paul, Ronald Paul, Gary Compton, and David Cole. Honorary pallbearers were Jared Paul, Daryl Paul, Cort Paul, Alax Paul, Andy Riggs, Ethan Riggs, Logan Paul, and Dylan Williams.
