Curtis Howard Morton, 83, of Jena, passed from this life on Sunday, December 8, 2013, at his residence. He was born January 28, 1930 in Louisville, Arkansas to the union of his parents, Nye Morton, Sr. and Ruth
Warren Morton. He was employed as a mechanic for Justiss Oil Company before retiring, and was a veteran of the United States Army. Services will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 11, at the chapel of Hixson Brothers
Funeral Home of Jena with Dr. Richard Arceneaux and Terry Head officiating. Interment will follow in the Woodland Cemetery, east of Jena, under direction of Hixson Brothers, Inc. of Jena. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Jean Bennett, Melba Evans, Millie Bailey, Sybil Simpson, and Nellie Parks; brothers, Melvin Morton, P. D. Morton, and Cot Morton; and grandson, William Curtis Morton. Survivors include his wife, Dotsy M. Morton of Jena; one daughter, Pamela Morton Hallinan of Pineville; two sons, Donald Ray Morton of Thibodaux, and Roger “Bub” Morton of Ruston; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Donald Powell, Scott Hallinan, Dusty Walters, Caleb Morton, Doug Hovarter, and Daniel Morton. David Johnson will serve as an honorary pallbearer
