A celebration of life was held for Eddie Taylor of West Monroe on July 1, 2019 at Griffin Funeral Home in West Monroe.
Eddie was born June 17, 1960 in West Monroe, and passed from this life on June 26, 2019, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Lake Providence. He was 59 years of age.
As many of Eddie’s friends have said, “To know Eddie was to love him… He was a gentle giant of a man, quite humble, with a willingness to help anyone in need, always with a smile on his face… Eddie was a sweet soul, soft spoken and kind… He was the salt of the earth and truly a giant among men.”
He enjoyed taking part in Renaissance Festivals and was a motorcycle enthusiast who made many road trips with dear friends. Eddie took great pride in his job and received numerous awards. He was employed by nexAir where he had worked for approximately 20 years.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Lucille Poole Taylor; maternal grandparents, Arthur and Beatrice Richmond Poole of the Aimoch community; paternal grandparents, Earl and Evie Taylor of West Monroe. He was also preceded in death by a special Aunt, Sarah Massey, who cooked many Sunday dinners for Eddie until she passed away 8 months ago.
Eddie and his sister, Tara, spent many summers and holidays in Aimoch with their grandparents and cousins. Eddie will be greatly missed.
Survivors include his father, Ralph Taylor and wife Barbara of West Monroe; one sister, Tara Hudnall and husband Don of West Monroe; and a host of extended family and friends.
