Larry Gordon Ganey, 73, of Rosenberg, Texas, and a native of LaSalle Parish, passed away Sunday, April 7, 2019 in Rosenberg.
He was born November 3, 1945 in Alexandria, to Gordon and Bernice Ganey.
Larry was baptized at an early age at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church in the Mt. Sinai Community. He sang in a quartet. His family thought that he may grow up to be a preacher one day. He never wanted to change his church membership all these years later.
Larry was a great oilfield salesman. It was said many times that he could probably paint a stick red and sell it. That’s just how good a salesman he was. Known for his jokes, he loved sports, dominoes and Wheel of Fortune every day at 6:30 p.m. He loved 50’s and 60’s music and Gunsmoke.
Services were held Friday, April 12, at 10 a.m., in the chapel of Davis Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenburg.
Interment followed in Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenburg under direction of Davis Greenlawn Funeral Home.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Allen Ganey and Robert Ganey.
Survivors include his loving wife of 53 years, Delores Ganey; three sons, Brian Scott Ganey, Larry Todd Ganey, and Jorrey Clayborn Ganey; two sisters, Mary Lou Andrews of Abilene, Mildred Prudhomme of Olla; seven grandchildren, Cici Lu, Ryan Ganey, Matthew Ganey, Taylor McKenzie Ganey, Tyler Mitchell Ganey, Skylar Clayborn Ganey, Olivia Faith Ganey; three great grandchildren, Zayden Blake, Benjamin Milliano Rangel, and Bentley Mason Rangel; along with a host of other loving family members and friends.
