Kernie Wayne King, 57, of Jonesville, passed from this life on Friday, December 28, 2018, in Ferriday.
He was born Saturday, January 7, 1961 in Jonesville to the union of his parents, J. R. King and Kathleen King.
Services were held at 1 p.m., Monday, Dec. 31 at Jonesville First Baptist Church in Jonesville with Rev. Todd Whittington officiating.
Interment followed in Heard Cemetery of Manifest under direction of Young’s Funeral Home of Jonesville.
Survivors include his wife of 18 years, Cynthia Book King; his parents, J.R. King and Kathleen King; daughter, Chelsea King and fiancé Byron J. Skinner; son, Devin King; daughter, Kacie Smith; daughter, Ashley White and her wife Bobbi; son, Aaron Smith and wife Heather; daughter, Amanda Smith; eight grandchildren, Bannon Jett Skinner, Carrigan Kathleen Skinner, Aven Elijah White, Jude Tilton White, Sadie Briar Smith, Emma Hadley Smith, Carson Slade Urena, and Mason Ray Urena; brother, Kirby King and wife Kay; and also a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Pallbearers were Kalon King, Kyle King, Ken King, Ben King, Ronnie King, and Bodie King.
Honorary pallbearers were Chuck Smith, Barry Ford, George Book, Tommy Millican, and the Catahoula Parish School System bus drivers.
