Pamela “Pam” Kelley, 56, of Jena, passed from this life on Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at Christus St. Frances Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria.

She was born August 15, 1962 in Many.

Pam was an amazing mother and, even more, an amazing grandmother. Her world revolved around her family. Her passion was nursing in which allowed her to touch an endless amount of lives. Sugar coating was not her way of doing things; “it is what it is” was what she lived by. She was in the nursing field since 1996, her most recent place of employment was at St. Frances Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria.

Services were held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 17, in the chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Jena with Brother J. D. Frazier officiating.

Interment followed in the Nebo Cemetery un- 29, 1993.

Alan attended Anacoco Junior High School and was a member of the track team where he attained a gold medal in long-jump. Alan went on to graduate from Leesville High School in Leesville, as part of the Class of 2011.

He attended Louisiana State University for three years and later transferred to Northwestern State University to attain his bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Business Management. After he graduated, he used his degree in order to pursue his career in managing diversified businesses under Glenn Williams and Associates Incorporated.

Alan enjoyed life, he loved to flip, ride jet skis, skate with his brother, and exercise.

Services will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 21, in the chapel of Kinner and Stevens Funeral Home in Jena with the Revs. Durhl Davis and Gary Norris officiating.

Interment will follow in Belah Cemetery in the Belah Community under direction of Kinner and Stevens, Inc. of Jena.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather and grandmother, Jesse Clifford and Jolene Cooper Thompson; and grandfather, Claude Warren Price; and maternal Uncle Tommy Warren Price.

He is survived by his parents, Oscar Alan and Teresa Price Thompson; his brother, Jesse Thompson; and maternal grandmother Jewell Taylor Price.

Pallbearers honored to serve will be Trey Dowden, Jamal Harrell, Kace Hollingsworth, Robert Kerr, Dustin Nash, Dennis Stein, and Jay Slaydon.

Honorary pallbearers are Belal Alammar, Brian Brown, Danny Price, Johnny Rollins, Brandon Seaman, Jesse Thompson, and Glenn Williams.

She was preceded in death by her father, Jack Carter; mother, Mary Evelyn Hailey; brother, Jeffrey Carter; and sister, Jackie Huffman.

Those left to cherish her memory include her two sons, Thomas Kelley and wife Megan of Deville, and Duane M. Kelley Jr.; daughter, Tiffany Hammock and husband Delmarkus of Jena; brother Harvey Carter of Caney Lake; sister, Karen Johnston of Jena; four grandchildren, Korie Lyn Hammock, John Harper Kelley, Levi Carter Hammock and Thomas Dayton Kelley.

Pallbearers were Joey Constance, Justin Parker, Anthony Huffman, Case Johnston, Ryan Basco, and Charlie Joy.

Honorary pallbearers were Thomas Dayton Kelley, Levi Carter Hammock, and John Harper Kelley.

can lead to other conditions such as stress, anxiety, anger and even depression, but having a positive attitude will usually get you through your situation.

During this holiday season where blessings abound, remember the good things and focus on them. So the next time something bad happens look at all of the good things you have to be thankful for and you may realize that we are all better off than we think.
