Kathryn “Kathy” Nugent Roberts, 64, of Winnfield, passed from this life on Sunday, October 21, 2018, at her home. She was born April 4, 1954 in Urania to the union of her parents, Gerald and Aline Nugent. She was the oldest of five children. Kathy was a retired registered nurse, who spent her career working for Hardtner Medical Center in Urania and for twelve years at Rapides Home Health, where she not only provided care for her patients but genuinely cared for them as well. First and foremost, she was a wife and mother who loved her family. To her family and friends, she was simply “Kathy”. Kathy grew up in Urania and was a 1972 graduate of LaSalle High School and received her degree in Nursing from LSU at Alexandria in 1982. Services were held at 2 p.m., Friday, Oct. 26, in the chapel of Riser Funeral Home in Olla. Interment followed in the Urania Cemetery under direction of Riser Funeral Home of Olla. She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Mike Roberts of Winnfield; her sons, Kurt Boyd of San Diego, CA, Kyle Boyd and Andrew Roberts and his wife Terri, all of Winnfield; her daughters, Andrea Roberts and Chelsea Roberts; three grandchildren, Sadie, Sarah, and Owen Roberts; her sister, Carol Kidd of Pearland, TX; brothers, Jerry Nugent of Alexandria, Paul Nugent of Monroe, and Matt Nugent of Urania.
