Jimmie Lee Madere, 77, of Georgetown, passed from this life on Wednesday, October 30, 2013. She was born Tuesday, May 5, 1936 in Georgetown to the union of her parents, William and Etta Mae Capps. Mrs. Madere was retired from Dresser Industries and was a member of Zion Baptist Church. Services were held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 2, at Zion Baptist Church with the Revs. Dick DeBusk and Scott Tilton officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield. Survivors include her daughter, Janet Edwards of Georgetown; sons, Joey Madere and wife Jenny of Georgetown, James Madere and wife Linda of Colfax, and Jason D. Madere of Georgetown; grandchildren, Jamie “Tow Head” Edwards, Tibby “Bubba” Edwards, Wayne Whatley, Martin Whatley, Sr., and Matthew Price; great grandchildren, Gracie, Maddie, Alana, Sierra, Martin, Koby, and Dillan; sister, Virginia Speaks Brown; and her beloved dogs, Pepper, Maggie, Jiggs, Buddy, Jack, Chopper, Snapper, Spud, and Layla. Pallbearers were Jerry Winberry, Kevin Wilson, Lane Capps, Jamie Edwards, Bubba Edwards, and Wayne Speaks. Honorary pallbearers were Petey Carnahan, Billy James, Robert Richards, Kenneth Autry, Jonathan Rachal, and Dee Jones.
