Syble Diane Smith, 67, of Trout, passed from this life on Tuesday, June 5, 2018, at her residence. She was born December 30, 1950 in Jena to the union of Percy and Loraine Jones Strickland. Services were held at 2 p.m., Friday, June 8, in the chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Jena. Interment followed in the Chalk Hill Cemetery in the Little Creek Community under direction of Hixson Brothers, Inc. of Jena. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie Allen Smith; her parents; brother, Donald Strickland; and sister, Ruth Ann Ford Those left to cherish in her memory include her daughter, Karen Smith Hebert and husband Donald of Trout; son, Bo Smith of Belah; grandchildren, Dylan Lee and Destiny “De De” Lee and one she loved as her own grandchild Brianna Cox; special niece, Carla Ford of Summerville; brothers, Junior Nugent of Belah, and Neal Nugent of Rhinehart; sisters, Linda Smith of Midway, and Betty Phelps of Rhinehart; and a host of nieces and nephews.
