Chester Roy Walton, 70, passed from this life on Monday, May 28, 2018, at his residence. Services were held at 2 p.m., Thursday, May 31, at Meyers Bend Pentecostal Church near Harrisonburg with Pastor Terry Glaspell, and Revs. Jack Knapp and Bill Cotten officiating. Interment followed in the Harrisonburg Cemetery under direction of Magnolia Funeral Home of Alexandria. He was preceded in death by his father, Chester Walton; mother, Maggie Walton; sister, Georgie Perrin; two brothers, Jimmy Ronald Walton and Robert Walton. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Patricia Walton; son, Jimmy Walton and wife Melissa of Harrisonburg; son, Tony Walton and wife Tabitha of Harrisonburg; Joe and Mandy Riley of Harrisonburg; 11 grandchildren; four great grandchildren; two brothers, George Walton Sr. of Jonesville, and Ray Walton of Adams Run, SC; four sisters, Carolyn Tate of Jasper, TX, Sue McMullen of Seattle, WA, Linda Sam of Jasper, TX and Pasty Nugent of Harrisonburg; mother-in-law, Ethel Thomas of Rhinehart; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Pallbearers were George Walton, Jr., Billy Floyd, Mark Cotten, Trey Nugent, Stacy Sharp and Kirt Rutledge. Honorary pallbearers were David Rutledge and Patrick Bell.
