Jackie Poole, 58, of Aimwell, passed from this life on Saturday, September 14, 2013, in Alexandria. A native of Jena, Jackie lived and worked here all his life as a mechanic. He served his country in the Louisiana National Guard for four years. Services will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 18, at New Life United Pentecostal Church near Manifest with the Revs. David Poole and Daryl Floyd officiating. Interment will follow in the Randall Cemetery under direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Jena. He was preceded in death by a sister, Anita Poole; an infant brother, Laevon Poole, Jr.; a niece, Marcie Swayze- Koch; and his grandparents, Jesse and Edna Poole and Dick and Ruth Andrews. Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Carrie Smith Poole of Aimwell; a son, Jesse L. Poole and wife Sasha of Jena; two daughters, Stephanie Breland and husband Chad of Aimwell and Kelly Elizabeth Poole of Jena; seven grandchildren, Christopher “Jake” Poole, Jensyn Goeggle, Gauge Ford, Audrey Poole, Karly Ford, Cason Poole, and Brixton Breland; his parents, Laevon and Marlene Andrews Poole of Aimwell; and a sister, Margaret Powell and husband Buddy of Bossier City. Pallbearers will be Paul Andrews, Darrell Ford, Bingo Brewer, Johnny Nugent, Tony Westbrooks, and J. F. Westbrooks. Honorary pallbearers will be Chad Breland, Buddy Powell, Jeffrey Ford, Jake Poole, Gauge Ford, Cason Poole, Brixton Breland, Ken Creel and Roger Reeves.
