Dale Rickey “Peter Rabbit” Johnson, 60, passed from this life on Wednesday, January 31, 2018, at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital in Baton Rouge. He was born on October 15, 1957 in Jonesville to the late Elisha and Elsie Johnson. At an early age, he was baptized at the New Mt. Olive Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. T. A. Baker, Sr. He attended Jonesville Consolidated School in Jonesville. Dale was a phenomenal mechanic and enjoyed working on cars and trucks. He will be affectionately missed by all who knew him because of his laughter and humorous ways. A celebration of his life was held at 12-noon on Saturday, Feb. 10, at the Antioch Baptist Church of Jena with Rev. Brian L. Moran officiating. Interment followed in the Webster Cemetery of Good Pine under direction of Gayden Funeral Home of Jena. He was preceded in death by his parents; and four brothers, Rev. Ernest Johnson, Sr., Elisha Johnson, Jr., Eddie Johnson, and Willie Johnson. Dale leaves to cherish his memories: his children, Karen Kenise Thompson of Omaha, NE, Rickey Thompson of Wichita, KS, Romicka Loyd of Farmerville, and Jasmine Lewis (Bryce) of Gonzales; 13 grandchildren, Maurice T. Bass, Jr., Kaionna,Janaya, Tamya, Rickey Jr., Ovionce, Jordyn, Kianna, Iyanna, Devin, Rhiley, Aubree, and Fallon; three sisters, Katherine Cooper of Palmdale, CA, Annette Bowden of Gardena, CA, and Maggie Hutchinson (Walter) of Downey, CA; three brothers, Rev. Charlie Johnson (Essie Bea), and Herman Johnson, both of Gardena, CA, and MacArthur Johnson of Jena; sisters-inlaw, Rose Johnson McCoy of Jena, and Louise Johnson of Los Angeles, CA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Pallbearers were Josh Johnson, Donald Ray “Haywood” Williams, Walter Ray Williams, Bo Jenkins, Chad Butler, and Greg Ward. Honorary pallbearers were Rickey Thompson, Maurice T. Bass, Jr., Rev. Charlie Johnson, Herman Johnson, MacArthur Johnson, Bryce Lewis, Charles Johnson, Jr., Gregory Johnson, Earnest Johnson, Jr., Josh Johnson, Walter Hutchinson, J. J.
