Archie “Goat” Farris, 77, of Jena, passed from this life on Thursday, November 9, 2017, at the Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria.
He was born October 31, 1940 at Utility, the son of Pleasure Savage and Newt Farris.
Archie was a yard tech and member of the Baptist faith.
Services were held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 18, at Ackland Creek Baptist Church with Pastor T. A. Baker, Jr. officiating, under direction of Gayden Funeral Home of Jena.
Survivors include two sisters, Shirley Whitney and Naomi Hughes and husband Robert, all of Houston, TX; two brothers, Harry Farris and wife Sadie, and Mitchell Farris, all of Baton Rouge; an aunt, Ida Crompton of Jonesville; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Pallbearers were Henry Savage, Harvey Savage, Ricky Crompton, and Paul Farris, Jr.
Honorary pallbearers were Roosevelt Savage, Paul Farris, Sr., Harry Farris, and Moses Savage.
