
Allen Monroe “Bill” Marshall, 84, of Harrisonburg, passed from this life on Monday, August 7, 2017, in Jonesville.
He was born November 10, 1932 in Bay County, Florida to Willie Monroe “Bill” and Ruby Odom Marshall.
Bill was a member of Harrisonburg First Baptist Church. He retired from McDermott, Inc. after working 35 years as a boat captain.
Bill served two years in the U.S. Army, spending most of those years in Korea. He was also a member of Harrisonburg Lodge 110 F&AM since 1973.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 9th, at Heard Cemetery in Manifest with Revs. Robert Bradley and David Mitchell officiating.
Burial will follow under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home-Jonesville.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, James Marshall, Bascom Marshall, and Herman Marshall; and one sister, Edna Jean.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Ellen Marshall; his “oldest”, Kenneth Cowart and wife Bev; daughter, Wanda Jean Marshall; son, Greg Marshall and wife Terri; granddaughter, Lynnette Taylor and her children, Jesse and Andrew; granddaughter, Miranda Marshall Johnson and husband Gregg and their children Eli and Addie; grandson, Lyle Parker and wife Amanda and their child, Price Avery; grandson, Philip Berry and wife Melissa and their children, Isabella, Ayden and Gavriel; granddaughter, Conor Monroe Marshall; and numerous nieces and nephews.
