Debra Lynn Parker Evans, 59, of Summerville, passed from this life on Thursday, July 27, 2017 in the Medical City Hospital in Plano, Texas, from complications following surgery.
She was born June 17, 1958 in Jena to the union of her parents, Ellred Jamar and Neva Sybil Venable Parker.
Debra retired in June of 2007 after serving 30 years in various positions at the LaSalle Library in Jena.
Services were held at 10 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 3, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church near Jena with the Revs. Ricky Gresham, Scotty McDowell and Brandon Poole officiating.
Interment followed in the Aimoch Cemetery in the Aimoch Community under direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Jena.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Van Dale Evans; sons, Brandon Poole and wife Jenny, and Blaine Poole; brothers, Randy Parker of Monroe, Gary Parker of Winnfield, Bobby Parker of Olla, and Brian Parker of Jena; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren; and step-children, Tony and Cassandra Evans and Tracy Zimmerman.
Pallbearers were Johnny Hutchins, Wayne Davis, Tony Evans, Bryan Robertson, Kirby Jones, and Ronny Steele.
Honorary pallbearers were members of the Ole Boys Club.
