Helen Virginia Smith Clauss, 86, of Jena and formerly of Oakdale, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 20, 2017.
She was born Sunday, February 22, 1931 in Glenmora, to the union of Nathan and Cordie Winegart Smith.
Mrs. Clauss was a homemaker and teacher’s aide.
Services were held at 12-noon Thursday, June 22, in the chapel of Kinner and Stevens Funeral Home in Jena with Rev. Gary Norris officiating.
Interment followed in the Oakdale Cemetery in Oakdale under direction of Kinner and Stevens, Inc. of Jena.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles G. Clauss; and her daughter-in-law, Robin H. Clauss.
Those left to cherish her memory are two sons, Dr. Charles Clauss of Jena, and Craig Clauss of Picayune, MS; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Johnny Hutchins, Wayne Davis, Joe Jones, and Brandon Jones.
