Elmo Emery Smith, 90, of Olla, passed from this life on Friday, March 3, 2017, at Specialty Hospital of Winnfield.
He was born May 19, 1926 in Olla to the union of his parents, William Walter and Kitty Belle Collins Smith.
Emery was retired from the timber industry and was an avid deer and squirrel hunter, and enjoyed planting his vegetable garden.
Services will be at 1 p.m., Friday, March 10, from the chapel of Riser Funeral Home in Olla.
Interment will follow in Tidwell Cemetery near Olla under direction of Riser Funeral Home of Olla.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mavis Delores Roberts Smith; son, William Allen Smith; grandson, Christopher P. Lawless; brother, Sherman Smith; and sisters, Eloise Fox and Beatrice Smith.
Survivors include his daughter, Betty Smith Lawless and husband John of Pineville; grandsons, John F. Lawless, Jr. of Rockwall, TX and Bradley Scott Smith of MI; great-grandson, Noah Christopher Lawless of Seguin, TX; several close friends, Jeffery Zeagler, Donald Milton and Edward Harris.
Pallbearers will be Denver Finley, Eddie Coolman, Jeff Zeagler, Kevin Hendrix, Kenneth Gremillion and Bradley Scott Smith.
