Myrtis Elizabeth “Beth” Nugent, 86, of Pineville, and a native of Jena, passed away on Sunday, February 12, 2017, in Tioga.
She was born Wednesday, July 23, 1930, in Jena to the union of Thomas Jason “Jay” and Addie Wilkinson Roberts Doughty.
Services were held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 14, in the chapel of Kinner and Stevens Funeral Home of Jena with Rev. Ed Cooper officiating.
Interment followed in the Nolley Memorial Cemetery in Jena under direction of Kinner and Stevens, Inc. of Jena.
She was preceded in death by husband, Joe Nugent, long-time LaSalle Clerk of Court; her parents; and a sister, Ruth Paul.
Survivors include her son, Jimmy Nugent and wife Cecile; her daughter, Linda Jo Nugent Bordelon and husband Danny; and a granddaughter, Laura Brasley and husband Owen.
Pallbearers were Tommy Paul, Steve Sanders, Skipper Sanders, Jay Sanders, Owen Bradley and Jack Warren.
