
Jerry Emile Breithaupt, 73, of Winnsboro, passed from this life on Tuesday, February 7, 2017.
He was born April 2, 1943 in Alexandria to the union of his parents, Oscar E. and Dorothy Helen Wainwright Breithaupt.
Jerry was a pharmacist, and loved working at Winnsboro Drug, was an avid hunter and marksman, loved shooting his guns. He loved helping people, spending time with family and spoiling the grandchildren. He loved his career. He received his Golden Certificate for practicing pharmacy for 50 years.
He was in the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict, stationed in Ft. Sam Houston in San Antonio and Captain in the Army, and was an avid reader.
Services were at 10 a.m., Friday, Feb. 10, in the Chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home in Winnsboro, with Rev. Floyd Hawthorne officiating.
Interment followed in Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery in Monroe, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home in Winnsboro.
Survivors include his wife of 36½-years, Merilyn Breithaupt of Winnsboro; children, Jerry Emile Breithaupt, Jr. and wife Shari of Gilbert, AZ, Lee Karlowitz and wife Miryam of Baltimore, MD, and Jarrod Breithaupt of Monroe; seven grandchildren, Sarah Karlowitz, Rachel Karlowitz, Rebecca Karlowitz, Emily Breithaupt, Graycee Breithaupt, Jeremy Karlowitz, and Jace Breithaupt; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers were David McLemore, Joe Doughty, Terry Johnson, Dr. John Little, J. D. Wilson, and Dr. W. E. Marionneaux, Jr.
Honorary Pallbearers were Michael Gilmore, Curtis Hilbun, and Vince Danna.
