Toxie Joel Evans, 68, passed from this life on Thursday, November 3, 2016, at his residence in Olla. He was born March 30, 1948 in Covington County, Mississippi, the son of Palmer Evans and Myrtle Walker Evans. Throughout his life, Toxie was involved in many trades, including trapping, offshore work, and truck driving. He owned and operated Evans Logging and Farming Company. Some of his favorite past times included hunting, fishing, farming, and enjoying his grandchildren. Services were held Monday, Nov. 7 at New Chapel United Pentecostal Church in Collins, MS. with Rev. Ken Hickman officiating. Interment followed in New Chapel Cemetery in Collins, under direction of Saulters Moore Funeral Home of Prentiss. He was preceded in death by his father; a brother, Mickey Evans; a step-daughter, Melanie Hall; and a nephew, Clifford Williams. Survivors include his wife, Ruth Evans; four daughters, Renee Curi, Tammy Lanham, Lachrisha Fitzgerald, and Michelle Evans; his mother, Myrtle Evans; two brothers, Jerry Wilson and Dennis Evans; three sisters, Margie Wilson, Dianne Clar, and Pam McNair; and nine grandchildren. Pallbearers were Ray Clark, Carl Wayne, Jim Wilson, Jason Evans, Jeff Wilson, John Wilson, Clay Dunn, and Carl Barkin.
