John Wesley Pippins, 70, of Krotz Springs, and formerly of Rhinehart, passed from this life on Thursday, July 4, 2013, at Lafayette General Hospital in Lafayette. He was born on January 8, 1943 to the union of his parents, Frank and Nora McFall Pippins. He was a beloved father, grandfather, brother and uncle. Graveside services were held Saturday, July 6, at Pine Grove Cemetery of Rhinehart. John was preceded in death by his parents; two infant sons; four sisters, Cecil Currington, Claria Bell Brown, Cleo Carroll, and Frankie Oser; and two brothers, Frank W. “Bill” Pippins, and Eugene Pippins. Survivors include three sisters, Hattie Sharp Culp, Ethel Sharp Thomas, and Gracie Sharp Stumps; three daughters, Penny Stermer, Becky Kaiser, and Tammy Cooper; two sons, Wesley Pippins, Jr. and Brandon Pippins; the mother of his children, Odeil Pippins; 13 grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
