Charles Randall “Randy” Welch, 47, passed from this life on Monday, September 12, 2016, at the Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria. He was born June 25, 1969 in Thibodaux. Randy was employed at U.P.S-Midstream. He proudly served in the U.S. Army for six years and served two tours of combat in Iraq. His love for his children and grandchildren was his greatest joy. Services were held at 5 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 15, in the chapel of Young’s Funeral Home in Ferriday with Fr. Louis Sklar officiating. He was preceded in death by parents, Robert Welch and Nora Tidwell; brothers, Lynn Welch and Joey Welch. Survivors include his fiancé, Erin Craven of Wilmot, AR; son, Josh Ratcliff of Vidalia; daughter, Haley Welch of Clayton; and son, Sam Welch of Pensacola, FL, and their mother, Lucia Creighton of Natchitoches; grandson, Braxton Ratcliff; granddaughter, Camryn Ratcliff; and grandson, Karter Ratcliff; brother, Bill Sandford and wife Bridget; sisters, Karen Enterkin, Donna Brewer and husband Snapper, and Wend Drews and husband Jim; and a host of nieces and nephews.
